Secondary Department

In the Secondary Department, provision builds on pupils’ established approaches to learning, supporting them to deepen understanding, strengthen communication and develop greater independence in ways that reflect their individual needs.

Learning is carefully adapted to each pupil’s developmental stage, recognising that progress is not always linear and may require consolidation over time. Statutory requirements, including Relationships and Sex Education (RSE), are delivered in accessible, sensitive and relevant ways, ensuring pupils are supported through adolescence with dignity and care.

Learning is designed to promote self-regulation, decision-making and meaningful participation, with opportunities to apply skills across a range of contexts. The focus is on enabling pupils to maintain, generalise and extend their learning where appropriate, preparing them for the next stage of provision while valuing stability and consistency.
