Vision & Ethos

At Trinity School, our values are not statements on a page; they are lived every day through our relationships, our learning environments and the decisions we make. Our core values of inclusion, curiosity and engagement sit at the heart of school life and guide how we support our pupils to thrive.

These values were co-constructed with our whole school community, including pupils, families and staff. By listening carefully to the voices of those who know our pupils best, we developed values that genuinely reflect who we are, what matters most, and how we want our school to feel and function.

Inclusion

Inclusion at Trinity means that every child and young person is known, valued and respected as an individual. We recognise that our pupils experience significant barriers to learning and life, and we are committed to reducing these barriers wherever possible.

Inclusion is embedded through:

  • personalised learning pathways shaped around individual strengths and needs
  • consistent, nurturing relationships that promote emotional security and belonging
  • environments that are accessible, predictable and responsive
  • a culture where difference is understood and celebrated

We work in close partnership with families and professionals to ensure pupils are supported to participate fully in all aspects of school life.

Curiosity

We believe curiosity is central to learning, development and wellbeing. At Trinity, curiosity is encouraged in ways that are accessible, supportive and motivating for our pupils.

Curiosity is embedded through:

  • learning experiences that encourage exploration, choice and discovery
  • curriculum design that values pupils’ interests, sensory engagement and real-world connections
  • supporting pupils to communicate preferences, ask questions and make sense of their experiences
  • staff modelling curiosity, reflection and a commitment to continual learning

By nurturing curiosity, we support pupils to develop confidence, resilience and the skills to engage with learning in ways that feel safe, relevant and motivating.

Engagement

Engagement at Trinity is about connection, purpose and active involvement in learning and relationships. We understand that engagement looks different for every pupil and value progress in all its forms.

Engagement is embedded through:

  • high-quality, well-sequenced learning experiences that reflect pupils’ needs and motivations
  • strong relationships built on trust, consistency and understanding
  • clear routines and structures that support emotional regulation and readiness to learn
  • close collaboration with families and professionals to ensure joined-up support

Living Our Values Every Day

Our core values shape every aspect of school life, including curriculum design, teaching approaches, behaviour support, professional development and leadership decision-making.

By embedding inclusion, curiosity and engagement across all areas of the school, Trinity remains a place where pupils feel safe, supported and motivated to learn—preparing them for life beyond school with confidence, independence and dignity.
